Excellent feedback from Rosita!

“My name is Rosita, I am from Lithuania, I came to live in England with my family a few years ago, we are enjoying our time in England. I like helping people, working with Bluebird Care has given me the opportunity to fulfil my aspirations. in order to improve my knowledge and skills in health and social care I decided to start my Apprenticeship with VTS. In the short time I have been a learner with VTS my knowledge and skills have already improved. My Training Consultant Roxanne is professional and supportive, she is always prepared for our meetings and always provides answers to my questions and promptly reply to my e-mails between support and review meetings, this makes me more motivated. I am happy with my personal and professional life and doing my apprenticeship with Vortex is the icing on the cake. In future I will do a higher qualification in Health and Social Care.”

Noreen attends BAME conference

The conference was held on the 13th July 2017 and focussed on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

In 2015 an initiative was launched by the government to recruit 3 million apprentices by 2020 which included an pledge to recruit Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority communities by 20%.

Key areas of the conference covered a variety of organisations/people and learners who gave an insight on how to overcome barriers to promote apprenticeships to communities and recruit more learners. The term “unconscious bias’s” was discussed regularly, especially when recruiting learners from diverse backgrounds/communities and poorer areas.

Overall the conference was a very important event to attend as this is something we are keen to promote here at Vortex!
