Following our nomination for a 2018 Silver Award under the Ministry of Defence’s National Employer Recognition Scheme, Vortex Training Solutions are delighted to be able to announce that we have been successful, and we are among 22 Silver Awards gained in the North East region.
We are very proud to have won this award and honoured the contributions our organisation is making to the Defence People agenda is recognised. Once again, are extremely grateful for this Award!
The Silver Award demonstrates support to tackle Service personnel issues and actively communicate their status as an Armed Forces friendly organisation. Having signed an Armed Forces Covenant to publicly announce their support.
The Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) was launched in 2014 by the Prime Minister to recognise employer support for the wider principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employers that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the Armed Forces community. This includes the Reserves, Service leavers, Armed Forces veterans, the wounded, injured and sick, Cadets, military spouses or partners and their families.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
We are looking forward to receive this award formally at the Military Dinner night at The Jesmond Dene House Hotel, Thursday 1st November 2018. In the presence of both The Rt Hon Tobias Ellwood MP, Minister for Defence People and Veterans, and Major General Ranald Munro, CBE, TD, VR, Assistant Chief of Defence Staff.
